ANNIE OLIVER AWARD WINNER 2012 – ANN KENNEY
Ann Kenney has been with Community Living South Muskoka for 21 years, 14 of those as Chief Executive Officer.
Ann was a member of the Board of Directors for OASIS serving as a Director, Secretary and Vice-President Executive Director. Her knowledge and expertise were invaluable to the Board and integral to the support she provided to Presidents, Brian Young and Judy Reid. Ann worked with the Ministry on numerous pilots, she worked in the Policy Division with government, she lead the province in Ministry detail code training through her role on the OASIS Business Resource Committee and she participated and provided leadership to the OASIS Communications and Public Relations Strategies Committee. Ann was always well informed and readily shared her knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the developmental services sector. She continued to develop the strong relationship that exists between OASIS and the Ministry and was admired and respected by government representatives at all levels.
Ann demonstrated the attributes the award was created for, excellence, innovation and leadership in the Developmental Services Sector, the highest administrative competence and professionalism, she inspired others, and, through perseverance, determination and positive attitude assisted OASIS in achieving the goals inherent in its Mission Statement.
In addition to her work with OASIS, Ann has been involved in her local community. In 2008, Ann was recognized as Muskoka’s Professional of the Year and received the Muskoka Outstanding Business Women’s Award. She also served on the Board of Directors for Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services and the Muskoka Planning Coalition for Children and Youth.
