Fourth Recipient of the ANNIE OLIVER AWARD
I remember how Paul was passionate and committed to the formation of a provincial organization whose mandate would be to support the organizations delivering services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
We spent a lot of time together then didn’t we Paul?
Paul’s list of accomplishments include:
- 2 years on the initial interim board of OASIS
- 2 years as elected President of the board of OASIS from 2001-2003
- 2 years as Past-President of the board of OASIS
Before and during this time Paul had:
- 12 years of involvement with the board of Community Living Brant
- 2 years on the board of directors of Community Living Ontario from 1998-2000
Paul has always stayed true to the mission of OASIS. Under his leadership OASIS has established a Government Relations Task Force, an election Kit for provincial elections, conducted surveys providing valuable information to us all, to name only a few. Paul attended many Provincial Network meetings and gave input into the province’s Transformation process.
Paul has been involved in numerous committees for his local organization. These include Community Living Brant’s Quality Enhancement and Rights committees. Paul has also been an avid supporter of Special Olympics. He has been involved in many roles involving various sports, including coaching with his daughter.
This is a very impressive list of accomplishments for sure, don’t you think?
I think that everyone who really know Paul will agree that the most important thing about Paul is not what he has done but “who he is” (I think Michael “Pinball” Clemons, our guest speaker yesterday would agree.)
Paul is a very supportive, kind, understanding individual who gives freely of himself and his time and is very respectful of everyone.
It is with great pleasure that I present this award to Mr. Paul Wilson.
