Position Summary

Due to an upcoming retirement, the Alice Saddy Association is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to co-lead our Community Services team.

The Alice Saddy Association is a vibrant, community-based organization that provides a range of individualized, person-directed supports to people with developmental disabilities. We envision a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive community where all people are valued and contributing citizens.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Service plays a key role in shaping the future of our organization and ensuring the success of Community Services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, and an inspirational leader with the ability to build effective working relationships with others, both inside and outside of the organization, including people supported, families, the leadership team, other professionals, developmental service providers, funders and community partners.

They will have experience with developing and implementing new supports and services that are responsive to the needs of individuals, families and community and they will possess a track record of driving results. They will also possess a solid understanding of program, resource, budgetary, operational and organizational requirements for existing services, and a focus on strategic leadership and management of support service, planning for future innovation, and compliance with funding body requirements and relevant legislation.

The Director of Service works collaboratively with both the Executive and Management Teams to ensure a high quality of person directed support, and community involvement. They are an agency ambassador and advocate who engages in local and provincial work consistent with the organizational values. Maintaining high levels of confidentiality around employee, person supported and business-related matters will be second nature, as will be the ability to anticipate and plan for the future needs with innovative solutions and information about all factors that influence the Association.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education required, preferably a University degree in a related discipline.
  • Personal philosophy consistent with the Alice Saddy Association’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including five to eight years of progressively more responsible program management experience in human services.
  • Direct support experience with people with disabilities is valued and considered an important asset.

Remuneration

The starting annual salary is $77,229. This position is full time (35 hours per week, as directed by the needs of the Association), permanent, in office and offers competitive wages and benefits, as well as opportunities for professional development and learning.
