OASIS is excited to launch a secondment initiative to engage a Communications Specialist from within our member organizations. This temporary, three day a week, role will build the foundation for OASIS’ communication over a 6-to-8-month project. By sourcing talent from our own members, and providing “back filled” funding, we hope to leverage existing expertise in developmental services and build capacity within our community. This approach ensures we hit the ground running with someone who understands our sector’s unique challenges and opportunities and creates more provincial capacity.

The Communications Specialist will work closely with OASIS to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of the developmental services (DS) system in Ontario
  • Experience developing and implementing communications strategies Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
  • Impeccable writing and editing abilities
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and digital graphics production
  • Understanding of graphic design, layout, and publishing
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms and marketing
  • Experience with search engine marketing and Google Analytics
  • Ability to contribute in a virtual team environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with multi-media software such as Canva, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Word Press, Constant Contact or other similar programs
  • Collaborative working style

How to Apply

Remuneration

  • Based on an agreed-upon schedule OASIS will cover the host organization’s costs for the specialist’s time (specifics to be negotiated with the member organization)
