The Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OCAPDD) has an exciting opportunity for the position of Director of Human Resources.

OCAPDD is a leader in the Developmental Services sector in Ontario, supporting over 900 people with developmental disabilities to successfully live in the communities of Ottawa and Cornwall. This support is provided by a dedicated team of over 650 employees.

If you are the right professional for this role, you will prove to be a good fit as a senior member of our management team of ten. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and your key areas of responsibility will include labour and employee relations in a unionized environment, staffing, compensation & benefits, employee recognition, health and safety, training & development, WSIB and policy development.

This is a role for an individual seeking interesting challenges in human resources, able to demonstrate your comfort and experience managing complex labour relations. You lead with inspiration and negotiate with fairness, while staying focused on the objectives of the organization’s vision and core values. You want to make a difference in a sector that positively affects people’s lives on a daily basis.

Qualifications

You are a seasoned professional with innovative and resourceful approaches to problem solving. You have a proven record of accomplishments, from at least 10 years in progressively responsible positions in Human Resources. You have excellent communication skills, perferably in both official languages, and possess a post-secondary degree (preferably at a Master’s level). High degree of computer literacy and functionality, along with CHRP designation will be considered assets. The use of a personal automobile will be required for the position.
