Board Meeting Summaries – Feb 24&25 2005

THE OASIS BOARD MEETING WAS HELD IN OTTAWA ON FEBRUARY 24 & 25, 2005.

The following is a summary of actions taken and items discussed. The full set of minutes will be circulated after their approval by the Board of Directors at their next meeting in May.

The President reminded the Volunteer Board members of the importance and value of the telephone calls to members.

The Salary Survey has been completed and distributed. Feedback so far has been very positive. The survey indicates that: there has been progress in narrowing the wage gap with the Schedule I facilities and our sector ? now at 17% down from 25% 8-10 years ago; anticipated revitalization funding hasn?t closed the gap ? the gap might be bigger between some agencies. Decision to send a copy of the full survey without the keys from President to several MPP’s, including the Minister.
