OASIS congratulates the Government of Ontario on important first step in establishing community hubs
TORONTO (August 13th 2015)—The Government of Ontario took an important first step this week in establishing community hubs, releasing a report outlining the strategic framework that will bring community services together. OASIS applauds the government for working to ensure collaboration between all community stakeholders in the development of community hubs. We would also like to recognize and thank the Community Hub Framework Advisory Group for providing a comprehensive consultation process and a thorough report.
OASIS’s 180+ member agencies providing front line developmental services support know that barriers hindering the progression of community programs should be removed, and efforts should be focused on coordinating existing programs.
“This is a great first step in establishing integrated service delivery in Ontario communities,” said David Barber, OASIS president. “We look forward to working with the government and community partners to create community-driven hubs and to promote equality and integration of persons with disabilities”.
