Information About the Person for Whom This Award is Named
Annie Oliver was the first President of OASIS. Annie accepted responsibility for the leadership of a new organization, the goal of which was to provide services to and promote the interests of agencies that serve people with developmental disabilities and their families. From a base of six agencies at its inception in 1996, she helped to develop an influential organization that now has over 150 members. She is a leader, who used her intelligence, organizational skills, common sense and good humour to steer the evolution of OASIS from its fledgeling stage to maturity.
