GORDON ANTON, B.A. M.A

CEO, E3 COMMUNITY SERVICES

Gordon Anton has served in the capacity of CEO of E3 Community Services in Collingwood, Ontario for over 20 years. He is chair of the Simcoe County Strategic Operations Committee responsible for developmental services planning; and he is past chair of the Simcoe County Service Coordination Committee. He also sits on the Central East Region Planning Committee established by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Mr. Anton obtained a Master’s of Arts in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Calgary. He taught Political Science in Alberta in the 70’s. He served as Executive Director of the Liberal Party of Canada (Alberta) during the Trudeau era. Gordon recommended a splitting of the party into two separate legal and operational entities in a paper he wrote in 1975 and this recommendation was central to his keynote address at the convention that same year where it was adopted.

He has sat on multiple Boards and committees throughout Canada and has been a guest speaker at conventions, conferences, seminars, political rallies and agency Board and member functions.

His work as CEO in the Developmental Service sector in Ontario has provided creative leadership to E3 Community Services building it into one of Ontario’s leading agencies in the field of Developmental Services. Gordon wrote a paper in 1994 called: ?OACL: A Federation in Conflict? that garnered support throughout Ontario and resulted in the creation of a new agency called OASIS (Ontario Agencies Supporting People with Special Needs). This provincial level umbrella organization now has over 140 member agencies representing in excess of one billion dollars in public funding. He further served on the Board of OASIS for over 10 years to help guide its development and growth. He was the first recipient of the Annie Oliver Award for Excellence because of his founding role on this historic endeavour.
